I'm the beneficiary of a Random Act of Kindness...

Today I received a cross stitch pattern in the mail from the lovely Carla!  Carla had posted that she received four cross stitch patterns from Kijiji (Canadian version of Craigslist) and posted pictures of them.  I admired one pattern in particular because it was of a golden retriever on a blanket. (And you know how much I love my boy!)

Me & Ben

I was all set to look for it online, when she e-mailed me to ask if I would like it.  I was thrilled!

I set it all up when I got home from work today and have actually started working on it.  It's been a long time since I've cross stitched and I've never done a *stamped* cross stitch before.  It's a bit harder, but I'm hoping I can do it even with my bad eye sight!  (Really, no one told me that you can't see close up anymore after a certain age...)

What a wonderful, thoughtful gift....Carla, thank you!!  I'm very happy to be the recipient of your Random Act of Kindness for January and I will definitely pay it forward...

Have you ever been the recipient of a random act of kindness??

I turned 50 last August and am also a victim of the eyesight thief. Your golden is beautiful. I had a red Golden for years. His name was Jesse and he passed away at age 12 from bone cancer. I've thought about getting another golden but then I rescued an Australian Cattle dog named Maggie who had come from an abusive home. She is so sweet and gentle with my grand kids. Hard to believe anyone would hurt her.

@Florida,
Ben is my second red golden...I had a girl golden *Penny* for 14 years until we had to put her down. (Very sad). I waited two years before I got Ben. He is MY boy. :)!
I'm glad you were able to rescue a dog...and I love the name Maggie! :)!

That Carla! She's a wonder - so glad we've become friends:) Doesn't it suck getting old...I mean older?
A total stranger once gave me $20 when I had left my wallet at a Wendys 300 miles previous. I was able to get gas and travel back to get my wallet, which another stranger had turned into the RCMP station. At that moment I knew the world was a good place to be even with all of our problems.

Aww, how sweet of her! Your dog is a cutie pie!! Better hit the dollar store and stock up on readers, they seem to have the cutest ones and a great price. I have them all over the house

Youre very welcome!! :) Love the pic of you & Ben! He's gorgeous!! And you're right, that *IS* Ben in the cross stitch! It's a big kit so if you're anything like me it'll keep you busy for a while... lol! Can't wait to see it as it progresses!

Ps - That may very well be the fastest Canada Post has ever been! It took a week flat!

Sharon, what a nice surprise! I love reading Carla's blog also. Great picture of you and your "boy". I love my little doggies too, they are such a joy to come home to, especially if you've had a trying day. Can't wait to see the finished cross stitch! You have inspired me to stop at the craft store today (with my 40% off coupon) and see what I come away with.
