Ever since I've started using cash, I have been searching for a wallet that can easily separate my cash categories. Envelopes are cumbersome, and hard to use when shopping. On the internet the other day, I came across this wallet...the *cash envelope* wallet by Savvycents. This is exactly what I have been looking for...it would be PERFECT to separate my cash, coupons, and checkbook...all in one place. It has a beautiful look and I LOVE that it zips up for added security. (You can see more of this wallet here.)
This wallet is priced at $28.00, however I found a coupon code worth $4.20, making this wallet only $23.80. Unfortunately their black wallet is out of stock, which is probably the one I would get. After visiting Savvycents' Twitter, I found out there will be new designs coming out in March. Not sure if there will be another coupon code to match though.
So, I've decided to wait. I'd like to say it is my ability to be patient that is causing me to pause before making this purchase, however we all know I don't have any. My empty wallet has more to do with this decision.
In the meantime, I'll just have to be more organized with the wallet I have.
Are you waiting to purchase something??

I love this wallet! Now I'm going to wait for it too! LOL! I love Dave Ramsey...but seriously his wallets stink! I have ordered two and they fell apart both times. The envelpes are wonderful but thats it. People are always pushing forward in line. They dont even wait for you to get your wallet put back in your purse. Forget putting your sales slip or envelopes back in there correct place. Let's hope for a coupon in March!
Love that wallet! I think compaired to others on the market it's a really good price and the others don't have all the cool little pockets. I am holding off on buying backing fabric for quilts I have ready to go until next month but even then I will be pacing the spending, fabric is crazy expencive
That is VERY cool. Good for you for waiting just a little bit. You know if you settled for something now, and then you saw a "better" one in 6 weeks, you will be kicking yourself.
That is such a cute wallet. And functional too. I think I would like the pinkish purple one.
Have you tried the cash envelopes you get at the bank. You can slide your money in the flap for easy access, or you can put it inside the envelope so you need to open the flap to get at it. I use these when traveling to keep funds separate.
yeah - a new garage door! Now that is exciting huh :)
I think I may need to invest in one of these wallets! Thanks for posting about them! I'm holding off on buying anymore books! I have entirely way to many as it is and it seems that all of my library holds all show up on the same day.
This seems ridiculous, but I need a coupon organizer. Right now all my coupons are in a legal size envelope. They are in order by dairy, canned goods, breakfast cereals, etc. I have seen some organizers on Amazon, but can't bring myself to spring for the $12.00. To me, that defeats the purpose. I am curious how others organize their grocery coupons.
Oh, I love that! What a great idea. I have a leather wallet that holds actual paper envelopes that are constantly tearing.
Love the wallet!! I've wanted to get something like this forever, but haven't either. I think it would be such a great help in budgeting!
That looks rather nice, but to be honest, I am too cheap to spend money in something to help me save money. It's just me, I swear. Glad you're waiting. Hope they come in really nice designs and an even better coupon.
Love love love it!!! Thank you for finding this. Each year with my taxes I get myself something, and THIS is on that list!
I really like the wallet but I'm thinking that Carla could make some to sell! Or maybe I'll break out the sewing machine and try my hand at making one!
Yes that is a very nice wallet! Good idea to wait, even if there is no coupon at least you know you have chosen the one you love. I always have something that I am waiting to buy lol. Here in NZ at the supermarket chain I shop at we don't clip coupons, instead we present a loyalty card at the checkout which is swiped in order to receive the discounts. This is much more convenient and a vast improvement on the old days of coupon clipping.
Love that wallet, how organised!
Yes, we are waiting to purchase our camera despite there being some good deals around.
I'm putting off the purchase of a kitchen remodel, but that's probably not what you're talking about. I'll have to wait way longer than March too.
I love the wallet. I'll bet you'll be happy you waited when you see the new designs.
Looks like they have them for sale on Etsy, but they're hand made. Which just gave me the idea to sew my own. BINGO!
But.......I find it too dangerous to carry cash, so I just use my debit card. Works the same way. If I don't have the cash in the account, I can't buy anything.
Before I shop, I write out my list and on the top of the page I put the dollar amount I can spend and circle it in red. I've been known to get back in my car, pull out receipts and add them up with my calculator. This way I know BEFORE I get to the next store how much I can spend. Sometimes, if I am shopping a sale I will pre-write the dollar amounts per item down, add it up and pr-figure how much I will be spending in each store.
Whatever works for you is the best way.
Anyway....I'm going to figure out how to sew these wallets.
Yes, lol, how did you know? I'm putting off buying ink for the printer - hate that expense! And I don't print much so I should really collect some $$ from Michael and Kazi who DO use it. I do all of my printing at school! I was hoping by delaying that they might go buy the ink themselves but so far that ain't happening!
How about just putting carboard dviders in the one you already own?
Gill in Canada
I like that wallet. I've been waiting to buy a purse but I'm going to buy one before I go to NY.
love the wallet! i've got a small daytimer that i carry and it has the vinyl zip pouches in it that carry my cash. not as sweet as that wallet but it works!
and yes, i'm waiting on purchases. probably seems silly to some but i got a very sizable VISA gift card for christmas from work. haven't spent a dime of it yet. thinking about a rice cooker/steamer and a kindle fire. hard for me to make that first purchase; it's like breaking a big green back!
It's a little too much money for me for a wallet but it's REALLY cute!!
I love this wallet. Now you are going to have to let us all know when it goes on sale. But I love red..favorite color in the world. HMMM wonder if they would give us a discount if we all ordered them?
Maybe I can get it after February.
hmmm well if Morrison makes them we could order them from her!! Hint! Hint! Hint!
