I have $500.00 left in cash to last for the next 10 days. Sounds like a lot, right?
So far, I know it has to include:
Whatever I have left is savings. I would prefer the whole $500.00 to be savings. Obviously that is impossible. So, I will try for $100.00 (added to the $250 I already put away).
Which means I have $75 for everything else or $7.50 a day.
Doesn't seem like very much now.
So far, I know it has to include:
10-day grocery shopping ($150.00)Already spent $148.00. Needed meat--we were VERY low on food in both fridge and freezer. Hopefully this should last us more than 10 days.- 2 1/2 gas tank fill-ups ($100.00)
- family dinner tonight in Chinatown with my daughter (who flew in from Florida with a group of her students) ($75)
- Cash for hubby (Last week I gave him $30.00, he has $30 left...hmmmmm...maybe I don't need to give him any money...)

It is just so hard to hang on to any money these days. I had put a little back and both cars broke down at the same time. LOL so I won't cry.
Doesn't seem like very much but at least that doesn't include groceries, gas, dinner out, etc... so really it's just msc. spending right? Can you cut back your groceries at all? Plan meals from what's in the fridge & freezer? It's only 10 days, you can pull it off!! :)
When you break it down like that it doesn't feel like much, but you are well planned out and seem to have thought of everything. Yours was one of the blogs that inspired me when I first started blogging, so I KNOW you can do it :-) I've seen it happen.
@Casey, Oh no! Both cars?? Yikes!
@Carla, we are hitting the bottom of the barrel with food, but I will try to spend less!
@Jolie, Wow, that is so nice of you to say! Thank you so much for your confidence...I'll trying harder now just knowing that! :)!
If you can manage a couple of no spend days then you will have more for the days you do spend.
I think you can do it, you've had a terrific month.
But don't worry if you don't.
Sft x
you can do it!
have fun with your family tonight. hope the weather changes for the better.
A little bit can go a long ways! $500 is a big check for hubby that has to last us 2 weeks at a time and those dont come very often lately!
But a little can go a long ways and I know you can do it! Try halfing that grocery amount if you can even if it means pancakes from scratch a night or two of those 10 days! A bag of chicken breasts can go for several meals too... I think I remember you saying hubby did not eat rice but could you make stir fry's with chicken breasts that you serve over egg noodles or serve over a baked potato even?
YOU CAN DO THIS!
$150 for 10 days worth of food: do you have a menu plan? have you shopped your pantry/freezer/fridge first? You may be able to dwindle that $150 down a bit. Also, check the grocery store ads on line, if you must buy meat or fruit, for example, select what is on sale, in season first.
HTH
You CAN do it Sharon!
The hardest part is having a clear idea of what you will need. You have that licked. You will make it and have extra! Great planning!
$500 sounds like plenty till you start breaking it down. You'll find a way to do it though.
You can do it - I have even less than that for the final 10 days - eek! Keeping my fingers crossed that things all go according to plan!
easy come, easy go. i personally think it's easy come, easier to go! LOL
turn on your creativity this week. you can do this. i'm cheering for you.
Enjoy the time with your DD :-)
Your DH is the BEST at the no spend days!! WoW!
